Default 1976 Not Charging

Hi I have a low miles 1976 F150 with a 360. I installed a new battery, voltage regulator and alternator. It keeps blowing the fusible link that goes from the alternator to the positive side of the starter solenoid. It will charge for just a few seconds when I connect that circuit but it gets very hot and blows within 10 seconds. I checked all grounds, VR to frame, Battery to engine and frame. Any ideas? Thanks

Voltage regulator set wrong, just a guess.

If the fusible link (fuse) keeps blowing, it would seem that you have too much power going through that wire. If all the wires are good and hooked up correctly (triple check) then the alt. is messed or the voltage regulator.
If those parts needed replacing maybe something was installed wrong in the first place ?
If the old ones were fine and you just wanted new stuff, did they sell you the right parts ?
That's all I've got.

Its been years ago but my guess is the wires on the starter solenoid are not correctly connected

Something that old, why did you not just go with a 1-wire alternator? I've done that to all of my older trucks that I've had. Takes a lot of the worry out of it.

WHat was the original alternator rated at 60A? Is the new one higher? Also what was the fusible link rated at?

I swapped from a 1G to a 3G and my fuse is 125A. My alternator is a 3 wire 140A version.
