Here, learn about Crankcase Evac

Now learn about reducing crank drag.

Here's a nice one.

I just picked up a spare motor today. I will probably build it up. I have a machine shop locally that can port and flow test my head. After that I will definitely look at a good intake. I would like to stick with a 2 barrel though. About every manifold I see is for a 4 barrel.

I went with the small holley 4 barrel. If you follow their build list it will be a perfect match.

Well, I'm not asking for help on the internet, and then insulting those who try to help. And I don't think I'm smarter than Ford engineers, so I'll just keep plodding along with my million-mile stock engine.

I wasn't asking for help, I was asking for leads to a good aftermarket EFI system, and opinions. Then you snorted and condescended me about all of my plans with this motor, and you were mostly wrong about every topic, then you continued to make condescending comments, and are unwilling to learn. I pegged you in your second response. This isn't my first rodeo or the first forum I've ever been on. Sorry if you've been enjoying your popularity among the come and go novices just to find out there's people like me who know things that you could be learning from. did you check out the links? Would it even interest you if you could free up 20 -30 HP on your motor and get better mileage? LEARN!

Does that make me the pot, or the kettle? I've lost track.

I beg to differ on the 300L6. I love it!!!

I still have the one barrel on it. But if you tune it like a regular carb, you can get close to 20MPG on the highway. I have 31's in the rear and drove it when I moved from NJ to NC and it used about 23 gallons of gas. Mine still has all the smog garbage on it. (Changing soon) It is a 4 speed so that does make it better. But I have a single core radiator with an electric fan set-up from an LS Camaro and in the blistering heat of summer never goes over 200*. So I am PRO E-Fan.

EFI VS Carb is my dilemma as well. I want to remove the stock intake and use the exhaust off of an EFI F-150 and the Offenhauser 4 BBL intake, removing the computer ignition and going Dura-Spark or HEI. Just doing that and removing smog crap will make the truck run great!! But I am watching my buddy STRUGGLE with the Fitech set-up on his Mustang. So I might just go with a 570CFM Holley Avenger. That said, the EFI shines on part throttle cruise. Where it can be a miser on fuel and make that leap to over 25 MPG. Carbs can be made to that as well, but typically its a trade off of something else.

My 67 Tempest with a 468 CI engine with a 770 carb 3.23 rear and a 5 speed took same 500 mile trip and say almost 26 MPG!!! Talk about a boring ride!!! I had people following me thats why we went so slow. 65 all the way. BORING!!!

I had reservations about the F-150 with an L6 300. I bought mine off of a farm and had a hell of a time getting to pass emissions in NJ. Ill never sell it now.
