1986 302 confirmation questions
Hello everyone, I recently bought a 1986 f150 5.0 with dual tanks that's been sitting for around 5 years
both my fuel pump and eec power relays were shot so i replaced them with ones lying around, works fine as far as i can tell
I put in a new front fuel pump, haven't replaved the rear one,
a new high pressure in-line fuel pump, and replaced the in-line fuel filter, however my truck won't stay running, I have to pump the gas and when I do it backfires
im thinking my issue is the fuel injectors are clogged.
ill post pictures later of one of what I'm seeing, but I may have electrical problems with my injectors, im missing an injector style connector as well as two wires that should go to a similar style connector but is frayed, but all injectors have connectors to them?
Could someone help give me an idea, I'm just starting out in fixing up an old car/truck so it would greatly be appreciated

I doubt your injectors are clogged if it fires up
You got a pressure gauge?
Get one and tape it to the windshield
Most likely
Your fuel pressure will be low and that is your problem
Most likely the fuel crossover valve is the reason
86 is one of the years that might have a filter in that crossover / reservoir
By 87 the fuel filters were all on the frame, so does yours have a fuel filter on the frame?

EEC power relay powers up the processor
Location varies and your 86 is on the fender apron on the drivers side (I think)
Way to tell exactly where it is, is to look in a EVTM for your truck
