Default Help with info for a 1986 F-150

My uncle is looking to purchase a 1986 F-150 Lariat. How can I tell if the vin matches the truck?

Also, approximately what is the truck worth? It is clean and is in very condition. It has about 69,000 miles on it. Thanks.

Two places....Dashboard driver side lower VIN plate (read from outside through the windshield) and Driver's side door jamb Certification Sticker.
Both should match the title. You can also type in the VIN here:
https://www.f150forum.com/vindecoder.php to somewhat help with general info about the truck.
What it is worth depends on what part of the country you live in. If you could grab some pictures and post them, it would help a lot.

Thanks 84ordF150 for your response. I will try to get some photos from my uncle.

When I put the vin # in in that link, it came back "we could not find any information for vin #." What does that mean?

Could be an internet Glitch....try this site:
http://www.shopkeysupport.com/sk5com/vin/vin.pdf
This is a manual search site.....it is NOT a "type in the VIN" and it's automatic, but it is accurate and I've used it for years.
Scroll down to Page G-38 for Ford.

On the site http://www.shopkeysupport.com/sk5com/vin/vin.pdf the 6 & 7 are for body series. The digits for my uncle's truck is 15. I do not see a 15 or any trucks. Also, the third character in the vin is a "T" and I don't see it in the list. What am I doing wrong?
