Hey, everyone, rather new here. Back in December, I picked up a pretty good '85 F-150 for about $1,500 here in NorCal that has (no kidding) 49,800 original miles currently. It's my daily and naturally the miles are rising, but all the maintenance record match with the mileage including a new set of tires mounted and balanced in 2004 at 31,000 miles. So, with all that aside, I've been looking at starting my partial restoration of it since it's rather rough right now, but the body is straight, aside from a dented front fender and bumper, and (serious) rust free. There's some surface rust on the roof and bed rails, but I've already seen it'll come off easy with elbow grease.

While browsing LMC Truck for parts and to figure out what I'll need to get started, I noticed that they have VIN info in the catalogs, so I got my VIN and most of it matched up with the info they have EXCEPT the Assembly Plant. My letter designation is "L", which is not on their pre-87 info but says Wayne, MI for '87+. I'm just confused and right now, I figure their info isn't totally complete, but is there a chance I got a pickup assembled somewhere it wouldn't normally have been?

IDK why they'd limit the years since the Wayne plant operated continuously since 1957.

Thanks, Steve, that just confirms my suspicion of LMC's info Nothing against them, I just thought it was strange and should ask. Although, it would've been cool to find out if something like that DID happen haha
