The Australians have been pulling big performance out of I6's for years.

I've never owned the 460, but I could imagine the gas guzzling haha. I miss my 92 with the 351w

Just FYI: The 1982 F-150 truck did not have any recalls that year. I own one and i looked on line for recalls and pulled up a list and the only year missing is 1982, but for $700.00 who cares , that is a deal any way you slice it when you consider the price of new or newer trucks today.

I have an 86 4X2 with the I6 300 and the NP435 with Granny low. Best $800 I have ever spent. I have about 3K into the truck now and the thing is a power workhorse. Every single person I know has used it for something or another. I replaced the rear suspension with bigger leaf springs and this hauls anything!!!

I say get it!!

Thanks for the advice everybody. I've already had offers for more than I paid for it. I picked it up a few days ago. Doing the ball joints this weekend.

Runs great had it out on the road for about 30 minutes yesterday. Plow works perfectly.

Check out that vintage Winston Cup plate on the front! Probably worth more than the truck

I'm thinking of painting her Cherry red.

2 things you didn't mention in the original post - 4WD and a plow. Plow is worth more than you paid for the truck, which would have been cheap at twice the price. Good thing you grabbed it while it was going by !

I hoping the plow pays for the truck and fixing it up this winter. Already talked to a few people about plowing their parking lots. I'll be praying to the snow gods!
