1982 F150 6 cylinder

Been looking for a project truck.

A guy I know has a 1982 Ford F-150 with straight 6. He's had it for over 20 years. Runs great not too much rust, few holes to fix, needs a paint job, tailgate, upholstery, and ball joints.

I can get it for $700. Would I be stupid not to buy it?

Thanks for your opinion

Sure why not! It's worth more than that for scrap. Besides, it's a classic now.

Can't pass up a deal like that, especially if it runs and drives. I hit the jackpot and got my 86 f150 with 54k miles for $300

2 running trucks for $1000. Sounds like a great deal. Build up that 302 and drop it in the 82. Is the 82 a 4x4?

The Big Six is a serious workhorse with some upgrade mods available also. Best friggin' work engine Ford ever built ! My 84 currently has a rebuilt 302 with approx. 1,000 miles on it. 2 months ago, I finally found a 300 I6 worth rebuilding and it's in the garage right now about half finished. I'd rather have the I6 over the 302 that "I" rebuilt  The I6 community is huge.
Maybe I'll find a decent Maverick to drop the 302 into.

460 ftw! Haha i wouldnt mind an i6. Only 1 header and 1 head. Performance upgrades at half the cost!

There's currently an 86 with an I6 that's in BEAUTIFUL shape with only 89k miles on it for $1500 in WI. I wish I had the cash, I'd go pick it up in a heartbeat!

Go with the later model split exhaust manifolds and you can run duals ! Just my opinion but the 460 is a fuel slurping, mob anchor to dump someone in da river, and a heavy one at that.....
I've had 3....only one was worth a :censored:
