Default 78 F-150 4x4

That's a sharp looking truck. I have a blue one that I am working on. I need to get a chrome rear bumper.

Thanks! I am getting ready to do some more work on the interior - install the factory CB radio, Ford digital AM clock radio and paint the dash. I also have the fog light switch and locking hood release to install.

Do you want the standard chrome bumper or the chrome rear step bumper? The latter factory bumper is tough to find - lots of reproduction ones that don't quite look the same...

I love this style of truck. The only thing I don't like about your's is the square headlights. I prefer the rounds, but that's because my first truck was a 75. Lol. Beautiful truck in every aspect though. Kudos for the patience to do it right and not quick job it.

Default Thanks Again!

Thank you for your comments - I too liked the round headlights - I remember when Ford switched in '78 and it took me awhile to get used to it, especially the bigger grill. I like the '77 front end the best.

I spent the winter locating and refurbishing the factory white spoke rims. I then mounted some new 31 x 10.50 BFG All Terrains on them.

Don't get me wrong, I like the look of the 33's but you really notice the effect they have on the overall drivability if the truck. It wanders and takes more effort to stop. My steering and brakes are all new so it is likely a combination of the wider/larger tires and the design of the older vehicle.

I will post some pictures of the new tires/rims later this week.

Thanks again for your comments!

I wonder if I own the truck the replacement tail gate came from? I have a 1978 F-150 4x4 with that same paint scheme and it has been missing the tailgate as long as I have owned it. LOL

Very nice truck.
I bet you get a lot of people staring at your truck when you go down the road
