1977 f150 engine won't turn off after ignition is turned off
My 1977 f150 engine won't turn off after ignition is turned off. The first problem I had was when I started the truck the starter would stay engaged, and the engine wouldn't start up. I replaced the starter solenoid now my truck fires up great, but when I turn off the ignition the truck stays running. Not sure on my next step to take, any tips.

I would check the signal to the positive side of the coil from the ignition switch. It should have power only in the run and start position.
You may end up changing out the switch.

I would chase some wiring before replacing it again but keeping that in mind, you can never tell how long a part will last these days.
Coming from 23 years at NAPA, I can tell you there are no guarantees a part will last. Case in point, I'm on my 4th wiper motor on my Crown Vic.

I'm not sure about the replacement switch, but these were well known for ignition switch problems in stock set up. My guess is that's what you need to replace.
The stock ones had a problem with contacts melting and sometimes fusing together.
