Default 1977 F-150/Ranger: Buy or Not???

Alright guys, new member here. My daily driver is an '18 F150 Supercrew FX4. I've come across this beast and it's been calling my name as I pass it at least twice a day. It's a 1977 F-150 Ranger. 44,xxx original miles, 351 M, 4x4, Automatic, Factory A/C. No known major issues, except for a slight oil leak, and the engine tends to run hot if you run the A/C for a long time during the dead of summer (per current owner).

Currently it's listed at $17,700.

Is this a deal or pass?

Negative. I asked what the original was, but the current owner doesn't know. He's owned it for 4-5 years.

Too high...You dont know what the body is like under that paint. How is the owner documenting the mileage to be original?

For that truck to be worth that money to me, it would need original paint, original wheels and tires, orignal valve covers and a cleaner, original upholstery on the seat, and so on.

Thank you. Where do you think it should be?

It's hard to say without seeing the truck in person and driving it.

17k to me is extremely high. I dont really buy the mileage either. C6 and the modified 400 are nearly unstoppable. Better check that engine code to be sure its a 400 and not a 351m. I dont knkw your location but you can find them nearly that clean here for 5-8 grand. How ever most of then are big block swaped and 4 speed. And no AC
