I have a 78 f150 that starts great idles a little fast but engine runs smooth. It does have some ticking noise on start up. Have put a carb kit, plugs, wires, cap and rotor and a new fuel pump. The problem is after running for 15-30 min, motor dies. It does not choke or sputter just dies. After it dies it takes anywhere from 2 to three hours before it will fire again.

Have not replaced or tested the coil yet. The truck sat for 5 years. after engine is at normal operating temp, the oil light comes on, but goes out when you accelerate. The truck does not leak oil, and does not appear to burn it, however have not been able to drive enough to know.

If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate the help.

Maybe the engine is getting overheated. Another possibility is that it is not getting fuel as in enough pressure.
