Default You asked for it. Did you get it?

From this thread we had a lot of "wish" list for the new 2021 F150 https://www.f150forum.com/f118/what-...e-next-463909/

I was surprised how many of the items were incorporated into the new 2021

Here was my list. I'm amazed how many of the items were incorporated in whole or in part.1. More camera angles
2. A rear view mirror like GMC (ug) that you can use when the back window is blocked
3. Power AC outlet at the tailgate
4. Option for a CD player (don't ask, but it would be nice).
5. Truly cooled seats (front and back) ??
6. Spot lights that stay on longer
7. Ability to change some options like temp over gauges, etc, without having to go through FORSCAN
8. Light that come on when you approach the car (user determined), like the Lincoln
9. My colored ambient lighting back

10. Choice where you want the shifter-and/or type
11. Ability to change notification tones. I hate the double honk when you get out and have the keys in your pocket (I disabled it). My Lexus does the same thing, but it is a very pleasant sound, not jaw dropping.
12. Mirrors that can automatically tilt down, when backing up
13. NAV system that updates regularly like my iPhone maps, or the ability to store maps from the iPhone on a HDD so should you not have cell coverage for NON-NAV units
14. A larger screen that you can rotate, with the ability to set icons and ribbons for favorite items. This way you could always see what song is playing while in full NAV screen
15. Heads up display
16. Smart cruse - camera that reads the speed limit signs (you can pick +/- MPH manually based on the sign).
17. Integrated screens in the headrest for backseat passengers
18. Ability for backseat passengers to control the air flow, and temp (QUAD control vs just DUAL)
19. A smaller or built in radio antenna that doesn't hit the garage door when I drive in. (I've changed that too, but factory would be nice).
20. Ability to view the backup camera while driving down the highway, especially if pulling a trailer.
21. Ability to set parameters for auto start, fan speed, temp, heat/cooled seat settings, radio station, etc linked to three key fobs

22. Additional input types other than just USB
23. Auto close for the tailgate.
24. Not allowing the key fob to open the tailgate if inside the truck (add a button). No more key press in the pocket and accidentally opening the tailgate.
25. Better voice recognition.
26. Wireless cellphone charging
27. Double AC outlet in front & back (more wattage) especially in the truck bed
28. Let's up one on GMC - an integrated tailgate step, that can be fashioned as a seat too. Sometimes I take a laptop on the job, and need a bench to work from. The back of the tailgate is great, I just have to stand or bring a chair. I bet they could integrate one into the step somehow.
29. Better moon/pano roofs
30. Power folding mirrors when parked
31. CONNECT to SYNC without having to use a cord
32. A larger notification area with sound on the BLISS system
33. Keyless entry on ALL FOUR doors, with the button in back of the handle and more flush with the outside. If you get groceries, etc and have to get in the back, you have to touch the front door first, then get into the back. Kind of a pain
34. Ability to NOT have a hole in your roof (all trims).
35. Higher quality materials in the upper trim levels (less plastic).

Confused . Which items were incorporated in the new design (i.e. with or without strike through)?

A couple things we're getting that I, myself, and likely others really DON'T want. OTA, and cylinder deactivation on the 5.0. Didn't really want anymore "tech" crap jammed down my throat either. I do think the appearance is growing on me very quickly, but the three things I mentioned are deal breakers for me. Very happy I was lucky enough to get the '20 I did.

I got at HO 3.5 2019. Love it, and glad I got it. They did away with duel exhaust, the HO Engine option.

I like the OTA in some ways (updated maps), but don't like being spied on (and already the 19 knows where I'm at.

The list were some of the items listed, that appear to have made it, and the crossed out items were wish list items that didn't make it.

What I liked was the XLT 302a guys like me got most of what we have been complaining about. Not that Ford read it (probably) but it was nice to see, especially all the years of the snarky comments (from some) higher trim level guys on "well lets just give all the options to the xlt then there will be no more lariat" which was a lazy response. Not having push button start or auto climate in a modern vehicle is just flat out stupid. I knew they'd have to address at some point.

Does anyone know if perhaps they will put 4A in the XLT? I haven't followed it super close, but very curious, still doubtful. That's the only thing that would allow me to trade in my 2016, otherwise I'm keeping it.

Thanks!

I'm thinking the Limited will probably be a Powerboost

I’m glad the SuperCab kept the clamshell doors. I don’t like the pseudo-Crew Cab doors on the Ram and GM extended cabs.

29. Better moon/pano roofs

What type of improvements were made to the moon roof?
