Default What dashcam do you use and how did you wire 'em?

I've being using a blackvue dr500gw on my ram since 2015 and it help up great, the ram had 2 cigarette plug, one is always on, one is on when ignition is on. wired it through a pillar -> glove box -> cigarette plug. I'm only interested to capture whatever is happening while driving, came across fitcamx on youtube and liked the idea a lot about taking power from auto dimming mirror. just want to see what you all using and how do you like it.

70Mai cam here. It came with a cig lighter power cable but I purchased a hard-wire kit and wired it to one of the fuses in the passenger foot well and ran the cable up the passenger side A frame trim and to the middle of the front of the roof along the headliner.

FitcamX and I like it a lot. Hidden, silent, and five minutes to install.

Power your dashcam with this. https://dongar.tech/

Get a dashcam that fits your budget. There are probably 100's to chose from.

I have a Garmin 67w and hooked it up with a donger connection directly to the rear view mirror.

I looked at them for my new truck. Nope. Nothing for trucks with the rearview mirror camera. My only plug and play option is with the GM system that uses the OBD to power it. Either way, I have to run wires.

I did come aross them, they want $76 CND for the ford 16pin adaptor, and the other side doesn't match my current dashcam (blackvue)...at that price point, I do have lots of other options. meybe it's a lot cheaper in the US?

This. Thing is awesome with my Viofo. Only complaint is it seems to reset the settings pretty often, any idea why that is?
