2021 F150 / Platinum / Max Trailer / 6.5 bed (one of the vehicles that sat for 6 months in Dearborn waiting for chips)

First off, Thank you for any help to get my F150 issues resolved. My dealership has been zero help and truck has been in there now 3 times in the last couple months (and last year I think may have also been same/related issue).

Last year in cold weather season my battery went dead and had to jump to get it to dealer. they said battery fine. Dealer checked system updates and stated if battery issue came back they'd replace.
Throughout the spring-fall 2022 had no battery issues. Then in November, camping in cold and snow, the truck started to go into deep sleep mode again. Loosing dome lamps, memory settings, dash last state etc. When I was able to get an appoint at dealership, they could see by the VIN lookup that there were "battery events" almost daily. I think that was Deep Sleep. Truck has now been in to them 3 times and I believe we are up to 6-8 days total in their hands. In none of the visits have they changed the battery or updated the SW. They now think my battery issue is related to the SW update but say they can't do it!

This is why I'm posting here and apologies for the background.

Last year I got my last notice of Power up update in September according to Fordpass. Then for nearly 2 months I was barraged by messages both in truck and Fordpass of SW updates needing my attention b/c they failed. I am set to Auto OTA, This was the first time last fall I took to dealer in hope they could manually make the updates. They didn't make any and said none were available which makes no sense b/c I know I don't have the trailer sticker update or the camera availability while in motion. 2 items I want very much and that are limiting the quality of use for the truck.

I have suspected that the battery voltage and the OTAs could be linked. Either the OTA hitting up my vehicle is draining the battery or the battery being at a low threshold could be letting OTA fail.

Now in late 2022 & early 2023 Dealership is doing nothing, guessing that maybe the blue cruise update will resolve the battery issue but they say they can't do the update because Ford issued a bulletin to not update F150s and Mustangs.

I'm getting extremely frustrated and tired of being BS'd. I highly doubt the SW will correct the battery Deep Sleep issue.

I'm really hoping someone here can validate what SW updates I have and that are outstanding and maybe shed some light on any relationship between battery / cold weather and OTA software attempts.

VIN is 1FTFW1E53MFB26309

Voltage sitting overnight in deep sleep 11.49 VDC (Surely this can't be OK as dealership says.)

I had similar problems. Bought a NOCO Genius 10, left truck plugged in for about 24 hours, situation resolved itself. Updates downloaded and installed, no weird crap going on (loss of settings, no tones, radio turns off, etc,). The auto reverse stop is still intermittent, but that is a blessing as the thing is a neck-breaker...

I don't have an active FDRS license to check what modules have pending updates. However, I can tell you that nobody even connected your truck to FDRS to check for updates when you took it to the dealer. I can also tell you that as of 10 days ago, Ford did release a bulletin to dealers to not perform campaign 21G01 for bluecruise programming due to an issue where the IPC module won't update. This may be news for them, but this is an issue people who have been updating their trucks themselves have known about for months.

Yes, the cold weather can affect battery performance and the battery being low can cause updates to fail. However, you have not been sent any OTAs in the past 60 days. You have to get an update before it can fail. We can only see 60 days in your OTA history, so I cannot speak on anything that happened before then.

Hi there. Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this battery concern for you? Thank you!

My job 1 powerboost issues and problems finally won. Three different dealers and at least 18 months of trying to get them resolved with negative results. I jumped the fence and bought a new Chevy 1500 with a 6.2. Wish me luck but I didn't have time to deal with and pay for a truck with so many problems anymore. I'm not a troll and actually have always been partial to Ford vehicles but this truck, the dealers, and Ford have defeated me.
