From what I've read and seen online the DeeZee unit does not play nice with the 2021 model.

I'm trying to find where I saw it, but I think it's because the hole are slightly different, or something has to be rotated. It interferes with the tailgate tie-down and I think rubs the paint.

 

I did this on a 2017 F250 and it was a fairly easy job. I didn't remove the tailgate completely, just removed the passenger side from the hinge and let the tailgate rest on the bumper. Slowed the process down a bit, as it was slower to remove/replace the screws, but I was working alone and no way I was going to be able to manhandle the tailgate. I assume the F150 is similar process.

I have it on my ‘21 XL STX. It works great for less than $30. Easy install. Nothing weird other than you have to remove the tie down cleat on the driver’s side of the tailgate.

 

This is the one I got. Genuine Ford part.
