Default System save low battery 2022 2.7 302 xlt 4x4

Well after the first dealer said everything is OK, so it's me. I talked to Ford their response is that it's me, drove 30 miles at 70 mph got to second dealer, and they found my battery to be at 55% charge, could find nothing wrong except the truck has not done updates because of low charge level, so I get to waste another day so they can do updates. This is all after first dealer had charged battery up 4 days prior, so what they are trying to say is in order to own their truck you better have a long commute and drive every day, who finds this acceptable? Can't do forscan voids warranty, can't change battery size warranty only pays for original equipment, no computer adjustments available at very concerned dealership.Ford strives for fuel economy yet we can select drive modes, they put in start stop but yet you can turn it off, for something as basic as the very operation of the vehicle please give me charge modes. And in addition I noticed on my window sticker, an absence of any mention of the charging system that competitors display.

forscan voids the warranty? Why would that be the case?

Anyway, it sounds like you have an issue with your battery or the charging system. You said "can't change battery size, warranty only pays for OEM", why would you want to change the battery size, do you have additional equipment setup?

Do yourself a favor and throw that battery in the trash. Go to Napa and buy your own battery. The cost of the battery is worth the lack of BS.

My 22 2.7EB 302a made it 18 months on the OE battery now another 12 months latter the 2nd battery is up to the same old same old tricks.

My real goal is for the battery to fail to start the vehicle and get another replacement battery before April 2025.

Central Wisconsin Winter is here and carry a lithium booster and a 4 amp charger if stranded and FORD can get out in a safe timely manner.

We have a Costco just down the road and hoping to limp though to spring then after the warranty expires go get a real battery.

I am already on my 2nd battery, and they say it checks out fine, the tech actually said he wished it would have failed. The problem seems to be the limitations Ford has chosen to put on the charging system and it is well aware of it.I don't ever remember any disclaimers stating that I had to have certain driving habits to accommodate the truck, I otherwise like everything about it.I got to think that there is a lot of older adults that don't have a need to drive long distance on a daily basis, maybe this truck would not be a very good choice, even though they maybe in the best position to afford one. In addition I do not use any extra power draws nor do I sit in the truck and listen to the radio I already turned off the auto courtesy lights.

on your negative battery terminal, there is a sensor, unplug that, that will then default the computer to command to charge at the 'tradtional' charging volts of 14V at the battery, see if that makes a difference

This worked for my 2011. The BMS is not fully charging the battery. Don't know if you can do this for the later models.

This is the fourth thread on this subject in recent days. Do a search and see what I mean. I love Ford F-150's. I'm on my 5th one. But starting with my 2011 and the advent of BMS and then Start/Stop owning one is challenging unless you drive it a long distance everyday. I don't. New batteries last about a year before problems start. I just got a used 2021. I got a new battery so I have until next summer, if I'm lucky.

Sad part about it my truck has the start stop delete and I'm glad it probably would never work anyway seeing how my battery is in a constant low charge condition makes me wonder how many are habitually low and are not even aware since mine has no charge gauge

Unfortunately I would second this.

My OEM battery died at like 5000 miles or something. Was getting the low-charge warning and updates and all that.

Did a "rotunda" (extended) test on it at dealer. Tested bad. Replaced under warranty.

Took about an hour of time though.

I think bad battery batches are unfortunately a thing. Unless the dealer covers under warranty and you wanna spend the time, I'd just go get a higher-quality aftermarket battery. Costco. Walmart. NAPA. Any decent brand I bet will be better than the Motorcraft.

EDIT: Oh, if you replace the battery, you need to reset the battery monitor.

1. Turn key on but don't start and parking brake off
2. Flash high beam headlights 5 times
3. Hit brakes 3 times
4. Watch for battery light in dash to start flashing

I guess I never brought this up but is this a problem exclusive to Ford right now. I have done some quick searches of the other brands and have not found it being mentioned
