Default Apple Carplay and Sync 4 issues

These are the issues I am having

Display screen will go black while driving. (increasing in frequency) Voice prompts still work. If I turn the lights from Auto to On, the screen comes back on, but goes off again.

Touch lock and unlock will not function, when this happens the interior and exterior courtesy lights do not function (occasionally)

Apple CarPlay will stop working (occasionally)

Screen defaults to the “Settings” when truck is started. (New symptom)

You may want to try changing display brightness a little to see if the issue will be solved. It worked for me.

The only sync 4 issues I’ve had are if I plug my phone in to charge and turn off the ignition then restart while the phone is plugged in I won’t get music through CarPlay just through my phone. Only way to get music back is to unplug, turn off then back on the truck.

That and the infamous presets disappearing.

When I turn on the feature to listen for “Hey Ford” I get a lot of false prompts where the system cuts the music and listens for my command. I hate that so I just disable the feature.

May have to reset, have source switching randomly from Sirius to bluetooth, front and back button on steering wheel for Sirius favorites only going to the next station and back instead of through all stations as it did at first. Master reset will hopefully fix.

One thing I have found that clears a bunch of things up is to turn the radio off manually, shut the truck off, open the door so the system shuts down and then restart the truck. Once the truck is running turn the radio on.

i found that not even turning the radio off, but just turning off the truck and opening the door, then restarting fixes most problems.

Same.

I recently had similar issues and most notably the interior lights wouldn't come on sometimes. The issue was the battery. The dealership ran an overnight test on the battery and it failed. I would be curious if your auto stop system is working. Mine would not, display said engine on due to charging.
