Anyone else have Sync 4 issues? I bought my truck April 17th. Since then Sync 4 has been working well except one time when the Nav system shutdown mid trip, but it came back the next morning fine.
Then, about 2 weeks it began booting into strange states where it thought it was in a phone call and the radio was disabled or CarPlay just refused to connect with my phone. I first tried deleting the the phone from the radio and deleting the bluetooth device in my phone settings and reestablishing the phone as a new connection. That fixed it short term. This morning, it booted into all kinds of f-d up modes. So, I just went in to the settings and reset the whole system. What a PIA to setup again. But it seemed to fix things for now. I hope this is not something I'll need to do every 3 months.
Anyone else having trouble with Sync 4?

 

I've had CarPlay issues and Sirius favorites being reset randomly. CarPlay I fixed by removing phone from truck and truck from phone, setting up brand new all over again. You can also do a soft or master reset if you're having constant issues.

 

It's no secret Sync 4 is terrible, The Verge wrote an article on how Sync 4 was so far behind development it ruined the Mustang reveal. Sync 4 is a sloppy GUI with a myriad of bugs and issues under the hood. An update came out for Sync 4 in May 2021, but Ford has not packaged an over the air update yet with the new system files. Ford is so slow to push out their own current-published updates it hurts.

 

No problems here. Works great and nicely incorporates CarPlay. I really like that I can use Sync 4 nav and use it for Sirius and my USB drive but easily switch to CarPlay for my phone music and for texts. Have not seen another car with such a great wireless integration of the two systems. Have only been using it for 4 1/2 months bo no problems at all yet.

 

I've gotten the nav blue screen of death 3 times since new. It always straightens itself out after a short period of time.

Once when traveling, we were about half way home between Big Bend and San Antonio. We stopped to get gas in Sanderson Texas, maybe the 1/2 way point. After fueling up, the navigation tried to turn me around and head me back to where I started, instead of taking us home. It's only done that once so far.

 

Mine had some issues but it is still more stable than a BMW and a Nissan that I own.

 

My 2021 Lariat Sync4 Nav is worthless!It looses tracking overtime when speed goes over 45MPH. I have reset the system twice and the dealer reloaded and updated the SW but nothing has changed. It is so bad the I can't use CarPlay and just hook into Bluetooth.

 

Every other time I start the truck Car Play does not load. Also loose my 3rd and 4th page presets constantly.

 

Can owners get the Sync 4 update and do a manual installation or is this a dealer only upgrade?

 

I just took delivery of my 2021 F150 Lariat, 502A trim. So far Sync4 has been fine. The one feature I don't totally understand is the Information on Demand screen; you know, the right side of the display. Supposedly you can scroll thru all these so-called information cards. Problem is I only see 5 different options. I've seen demos where you could see fuel economy and lots of other things. I think i saw one demo where there were 10 different options. I only get a few.

Is there a way to add more cards?

Any ideas?
