Default Oil Pressure Guage

I'd like a real oil gauge so I can see where it is when idling and at other various engine speeds. Have any of you guys found and added a real oil pressure gauge and if so please add a link to said gauge.
thanks

I think you would need to tee in with the pressure sensor and use an aftermarket gauge. Then you need to realize Ford uses a variable volume pump and the pressure will vary a bunch from idle to cruise. There is a PID reading inferred for oil temp. KM

Thumbs down not a smart mod, IMO

Where would one insert such a "T" fitting?
.
IMO it's a needless-risk proposition to add connections and fittings to the all-critical lubrication system, with attendant leak potential, just to satisfy curiosity (If it ain't broke ....)
.
FYI, from the Workshop Manual:
  • Oil pressure @ 1,500 rpm with engine oil temperature between 121.9-175.9°F (50-80°C) = 20.3 –29.0 psi (140 –200 kPa)

The connection doesn't need to be a mechanical one. If I could just get an electrical guage that would read the full range of oil pressure it would do me just fine. I just would like to find where I'd need to connect to the wiring to accomplish this. I gather from the responses that no one has attempted this before and it kind of amazes me. Am I the only odd duck that wants to know my real oil pressure?

Understood, I was responding to the suggestion made by @2017bluetruck

Perhaps of interest is this thread wherein @snakebitten makes reference to an (unidentified) PID for the 3.5EB oil pressure:

I use a SCT BDX to monitor the engine and there is no oil pressure readout listed just oil temp. I'm not suggesting snakebitten is wrong just may depend on the monitor, he was using a discontinued N-Gauge running I believe HP software. I'll look later to see if that is available with Torque Pro or Forscan applications. I may be way off on this but think I remember JohnDay on this forum used a N-Gauge. KM

Actual oil pressure might be possible on a scan gauge which plugs into the OBD2 port.

OK, with a focus on Gen 14 2.7 & 3.5EB** a proven PID solution is posted here (read the thread, not just the first post). Folks there have successfully programmed an OBDLink to display the EOP (Engine Oil Pressure) in PSI.

Have Fun!

**No idea if this will work on a 2017 F150 (?)
