Hey everybody. So I’ve only just within a week got my new lariat powerboost, and I’ve noticed this weird rattling/grinding noise coming from the truck upon initial cold weather remote start ups. Any idea what this could be? It sounds horrible. It eventually goes away but it takes awhile.

 

Just take it to the dealer. Unless you bought it with no warranty.

 

what did they find out RE the noise you heard? Any update?

I too have discovered that my powerboost suffers from this terrible noise as well on cold starts when temp is below freezing. It goes away after 10 minutes or so, but it does sound terrible. Have an appointment with my dealer next week to check it out and have the loose insulator blanket recall done.

 

Let me know what you find. Wonder if it has something to do with the recall. My truck isn’t part of the recall, but you never know.

 

Mine does it also , recall has been performed ........ Only first start of the day before i go too work -12 here yesterday morning and i thought **** was coming un glued under the truck ! It shut itself off for after few minutes then restarted and was quiet again ... not so sure about this whole P.B thing some the sounds this thing make freak me out ! lol

 

 

 

Yep. Those videos are the exact sound I’ve got. Death Rattle… goes away eventually when the truck warms up. Sounds absolutely Horrible. Embarrassing when I’m warming it up in the parking lot after a shift. Glad I’m not alone. Gotta get it in here soon
