There is a lot of fear-mongering on the forums when it comes to using FORScan. You aren't going to brick a module by changing a few bits around to enable or disable something. If you make a change and you don't get the desired result, you just change it back to what it was before. It really is that simple.
Yep, I totally agree. I was a little apprehensive the first time, but I have learned over time it's not near as scary as it's portrayed to be. Backing up is important, but the paper copy of as built is just as good or better to me, because as long as you know what lines you change, it can always be put back. Go slow, one line at a time, and have a backup copy either saved or printed is the way to go.
Recently I "upgraded" my 25 XLT with hill descent and rock crawl that came with the FX4 option. 4 lines modified and replaced the switch above my info screen and done. Easy peasy.

I like to go in and change random chit in random modules to see what happens. Maybe I'll get the giant screen if I do the right changes in the right sequence oh and also I'm trying to turn my tailgate into the Pro Access Tailgate.

I kid of course.

Not responsible for anything you break on your rides.

Backing up is easy and can’t really be screwed up. The only screwup related to backing up is not doing it. Great video showing how to back up the “as built” for each module Is below. No sound but easy to follow and short. These days it makes a nice filename for you with a timestamp so you don’t need to type a name.

Watch the sequence of button pushes he does to each ”as built” to back it up. He goes through a few examples. Simply do that sequence to each of yours to have each of them backed up.

When working with anything new I take my time to get familiar with the program and ensure I can recover any changes I might have made before starting. I'd also like to add that for folks who are uncomfortable setting bits the latest version I installed gave folks the ability to do many of the common settings via menu driven panels.

The door unlock number pad on the B pillar. 2025s came with the wiring, but not the pad, so people sometimes add it.
