Default Ford performance lowering kit on 4x4 with max tow

Reading through many threads and can't seem to get a direct answer. I have a 2021 fx4 crew woth max tow. Some people seem to get vibrations and some not. I know the kit includes shims but some still get vibrations... does this work on max tow trucks? It has the perfect amount of lowering for my needs. Also if I use this on stock shocks will I be ok?

  • Does not fit Limited Trim
  • Does not fit any "High Pay Load Package"
  • Does not fit any variant of Powerboost
  • Please contact us with your VIN number prior to placing your order if you would like to confirm fitment for your vehicle.
I don't think the ubolts will work because Max tow has a multileaf setup vs non max tow. I didn't have a vibration in my 2020, The pinion angle was out a bit after measuring I did put the 2.5° shim in but could have went with a 2° that is something you must measure before and after measurements of the transfer case drive shaft and rear differential. It might be easier to swap out the front struts for 2wd ones, remove your rear block and use a shackle like Belltech 6426 It comes with spacers for the u-bolts so you don't have to replace them when removing the block. As long as if the U-Bolts are the same diameter on the max tow versus the non max. I had installed 2wd rear shocks and bump stops just to make sure I wouldn't have an issue. If you only remove the rear block you can run the stock bump stop and shocks but by adding the shackle on top of it I wouldn't risk bottoming out.

so is max tow considered high payload? That's what I'm asking cuz I know certain years they had high payload option no? That's why I'm asking if anyone with max tow has successfully done this mod.

There was a 2.7 Payload Boost package which required 53A towing package. Plus a Heavy Duty payload package which required 3.5 or 5.0 and 53C towing package
