Ford F-150 TSB 22-2224 for transmission shudder
This TSB is for 2021-2022 F150 models produced on or before May 12, 2022 that experiences a shudder at throttle tip-in when in one of the three OD gears (8,9,or10). To me, kinda feels like clutch chatter, a cylinder miss, or running across rumble strips. Would be most appreciative if any of the Ford Master Techs can help me understand what this TSB update actually does when PCM is flashed. My first thought that it changes parameters affecting the torque converter clutch. If so, doesn’t make sense why this applies to only the V-6 turbo engines and excludes the 5.0L V-8 engine. I’ve also found this explanation about water condensation in the intercooler and intake pipe, but would think all gears would be prone to shudder instead of only the three OD top gears per this TSB. https://www.bluespringsfordparts.com...oboost-shudder
My 2022 F150 3.5L was produced in March, truck has exhibited this shudder, and the local Ford dealer completed this TSB update about a week ago. The shudder is better, but not completely eliminated.

Thanks for the info. Mine was built in March too.
I'll be taking it in for the first oil change in a couple weeks and will inquire about the TSB, but my main concern is the really rough idle.
