I like that idea, nice and neat........ does the overhead console come off easily ? Any tips.
I did order that dongar tap/adaptor but had to send it back, the connectors are not from the oem supplier and don't fit smooth like the oem, pin fit for me was very bad.Their tech was extremely helpful, I understand there may be an upgraded connector coming. Yes others were probably fine but mine was not.
I made a couple posts detailing a few things. here and a more detailed one here. Neither of them go into much detail on the wiring of the USB converter though.
The console pulls straight down. It’s easy and low drama once you gain the courage to proceed yanking and pulling down on a component of your new truck.
There is keyed power and ground going right into the back of the rear window switch going into the gray connector. Ignore all the wiring for the sensors up there. Look for the gray connector and the wires going into it.
PM me if you need any more info.
Edit: pics. Obviously I don’t have the moonroof so it might look a little different up in there but the rear window switch should be in the same spot.
I skipped a few pics of tapping into the wires and mounting the converter but you get the point.
I used posi-taps to tap the wires. No cutting. Easy. Use the ones for really small gauge wire like 20g.

Thanks ,good to see how that went. Going to wait till we get south to pull panels apart, we are cold now. Now I can assemble all the stuff I need to take to complete the job right. Nice to see what is behind there. Gonna have to get some t type connectors, all I have are the red suitcase type, may be a little too bulky.
Good karma for you.
Posi-Tap and the best tap available. Being a trained electronics tech, I cut away a small area of insulation and solder the new lead to the main lead after wrapping the new wire around the exposed main lead. I then use rubberize tape to protect the splice.
I have this on my 21 Powerboost. Works great. 5 min install.
Have you had any problems with AUX battery drain?
I have the FITCAMX front cam installed on my ‘21 PB and noticed truck entering deep sleep, remote functions disabled, approach lighting disabled, passenger door touch-unlock disabled, cabin lights disabled, etc.. Never had these issues before I installed the cam.
Truck is programmed to go into deep sleep mode when AUX battery is low. I tested the AUX battery and it was perfectly healthy, although 82k miles and still factory battery (and yes, I disconnected the main battery from the AUX battery when testing).
Anyone else having these issues with a dash cam wired into the rear view camera?
I second the FitCam, easy to install, looks built in, and also has a rear camera you can get.
