Default Cab Height with Lift

I'm deciding between a 4" or 6" lift on a Lariat FX4. Considering 20" wheels and 35" tires, what would be the cab height for these lifts? I'd like to know how much of a clearance issue I will have. I already know it won't clear my garage door. Thanks in advance!

4" lift should lift your truck 4" higher than it is now. If you run 31" tires now and move to 35" tires, add another 2" of height.

After I wrote the post, I dug up the exterior dimensions from Ford. Top of cab with 18" wheels should be 78". Adding 20" wheels (+1), adding 35" tires (+2) should result in a 4" lift top of cab height of 85" and a 6" lift to 87". I'm going to need at least 8' clearance that will give me 9" to spare max.

Drive into your garage now. Hang something from the ceiling, a tennis ball on a string, a 4' level, anything. The thing should touch your cab.

Follow the instructions of others posted above taking into considering the CHANGE in tire size.

I don't know where you come up with the numbers you post above about a 20" wheel raising your truck a full inch.

(current height + lift height + tire radius height) = final height.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking bigger wheel = higher but didn't make the connection that the wheel diameter is consumed by the tire diameter. Rookie mistake

Default Rookie Miscalculation

As 16IngotFX4 was kind enough to point out, the wheel size is a non-issue. So stock cab height of 78" adding 35" tires (+2) should result in a 4" lift top of cab height of 84" and a 6" lift to 86". I'm going to need at least 8' clearance that will give me 10" to spare max.
