Default Android Auto Issues

I bought a 2024 F-150 STX two weeks ago. This my fourth F150 and I am happy with everything but the Sync system. I want to use Android Auto and Google Assistant exclusively. It seems that this built in navigation and ford's built in assistant are conflicting or fighting with Android Auto. I tried to turn off the navigation but it seems impossible to make it go away. I also tried to turn off the Assistant thinking that it would default to Google. But now google won't work either. Is there a way to make it do what I want? When I reset all the settings some things work, like it will notify me of a text message but it won't play it. Google won't show the weather and Spotify won't work. I am at a loss. I've tried every setting I can find.

Mine is glitchy too. Usually briefly switching tabs on the truck display (to Apps, or Audio for example) then back to Android Auto fixes any weirdness. But not always.

But did you find a way to turn off the ford navigation and assistant so that it will use only google?

There is many threads on this and Ford knows they have an issue. I got a letter from Ford to bring it to the dealer for a fix.

But do you trust ford. I don't

Ford nav has never tried to interfere, I only use it when AA doesn't work.
