Default Aluminum Oil Pan on 3.5 Ecoboost?

Does the 3.5 Ecoboost engine now come with an aluminum oil pan? My 2017 has the composite oil pan and it leaks. Can't say that the 2017 oil pan leaks much as I never have to add oil between changes but it sure leaves the lower part of the engine and transmission covered with a layer of oil soaked dirt. Have a 2021 coming but forgot to ask about the oil pan.

Ford went back to aluminum in March of the 18 model year.

has anyone heard of swapping the 2017 3.5L ecoboost plastic oil pan(2 piece) with the aluminum one piece ford went back to? 2017 has upper stiffener and lower plastic oil pan that when together look to be the same as the 2018 one piece all aluminum.

Hello All,

I just purchased a 2018 3.5EB platinum. It is awesome. no leaks, but I noticed that mine has the plastic oil pan. I am uncomfortable with it, and would like to switch to aluminum. any suggestions/recommendations?

While we are at it, the plastic transmission cover seems stupid. Anyone replace that with aluminum?

Thank you!

No I haven't. I had a 2017 Raptor with the plastic oil pan but it didn't leak during the 42K miles I put on the truck. I traded it for a 2020 and my 2020 has the metal oil pan.
