Default Adaptive Cruise Control puts me ON right side road line

Anyone else have this problem? Its a 2021 F150 Lariat with 5.0 V8. Anytime I turn on adaptive cruise it pulls me to the right until my passenger tires are basically on the right side line on the road. Its very frustrating as I constantly have to give it left rudder to keep it off the line on the road.

The problem being described is the lane keeping problem. Shut it off and I believe the problem is will go away. I drive mostly on two lane roads and the lane keeping wants to follow the fog line. This is very dangerous when you have a fog line that defines anything other than the driving lane. Adaptive cruse works perfectly.

Do you have BC, lane keeping, and if so is it activated? It sounds like a BC problem and not ACC.

That is lane keeping, not adaptive cruise. I shut lane keeping off for that same reason (amongst other reasons). Always felt like I was constantly fighting the truck to drive in the part of lane I wanted to drive in. Lane keeping has no effect on adaptive cruise.

I have a 2023, and lane keeping for the most part keeps me centered, NOT riding the line. So the question is... did they improve it in two years, or is there a problem with your system, perhaps the lane detection cameras? Have you asked the dealer?

Default Calibrate lane keeping

With lane keeping on, drive on a well marked (centerline) highway/interstate. The straighter the drive the better, some curves are fine, the lane keeping will recalibrate and will no longer try to pull you in the wrong direction. We had the problem with our Ford Transit, the mechanics/service department had no idea what to do. However I found the solution somewhere on the internet. Give it a try! Good Luck! Worked for us!

Video explanation on how to turn off your lane centering.

Have a 22 302a XLT that has the optional lane centering. Only use the adaptive cruise with stop and go and have lane centering turned off.

Have not gained the full confidence in the lane centering system and like OP feel it runs to close to the right lines.

I use LC all the time, the only thing I found that can happen when using it is if the lines on the road change - say right lane opens up for an exit lane the car may try to center between the now wider painted lines,

as suggested above maybe a longer drive

I also find the adaptive cruise in our explorer to hold you a little closer to that line than you typically would.

What makes me laugh is that I think in my '24, I feel like the lane centering keeps me too close to the center line. I'm getting used to it though, it's nice not having to work so hard to drive during long drives. Keep a hand on the wheel and it steers itself for the most part. Helpful on long boring roads.
