2022 F150 XLT Unhappy with the way the transmission shifts
Reviving this thread. I have a 2022 PB that hard shifts. I have read that depending on the mileage, it can be tranny fluid (dirty, or in need of changing; although I've read the tranny fluid change is every 150,000 miles under regular driving conditions?!), or, it can be a weak transmission auxiliary pump. Neither of these things will throw codes though. The dealership started with replacing both rear half shafts. I'm going to take it back and have them check the tranny fluid and the tranny aux pump.
150000 service miles on ANY transmission is ridiculous. Average driving on highways and back and forth to work IS NOT NORMAL USE! Have the trans serviced and reset the tables and I bet you it will be MUCH MUCH better. Also yours is a 22, you need to see if yours has the re-designed CDF drum in the trans. There was an issue with the CDF drum and Ford made a change and it was sometime in 22 if I remember correctly, if you have the older design, that could be a possible cause as well. Have your dealer look up the CDF Drum recall and see if you fall in the group of trucks that get that update.
I added a deep sump trans pan to my 2024 @4K miles, so I had to drain and service the trans anyway since I was dropping the pan. I will service it again at 30K miles. These 10speeds have way more moving parts, more clutches, more solenoids etc. so you can bet that there will be more debris and particles as the trans wears in so Ford saying these can go to 100K miles before the need to service is just stupid-

I have about. 20,000 miles on my trunk now and I have been unhappy with the way it drives for most of those miles. I have the 10-speed transmission and I can feel every one of those shifts. Accelerating or slowing down every shift is a jerk. Dealers tell me nothing is wrong, "that's the way Ford makes 'em." Well, that doesn't make me any happier. My truck is just not pleasant to drive. "Oh no! ...the wife has the car; I have to take the truck!" Accelerating it seems to shift late, and decelerating it downshifts early. The mechanic says it down shifts early to take load off the braking system. I don't like this trade! My last set of brake pads lasted for 180,000 miles. Load on the brakes doesn't seem like a problem to me.
Is there a way to program the shifting back to "normal" or pre-learning times. My transmission may have adaptive learning, but it's learning some bad habits.

I have a 2023 2.7 Ecoboost and I had the same problem, everything you are describing. After 10 months I put my truck in the shop to fix a few little warranty items, the big one was the transmission. I told them the way this transmission shifts can't be normal and they agreed. They replaced what they called the shifter module. I didn't have high hopes, but to my surprise that fixed the problem. Shifts like butter, it's like a new truck. It's been 3 weeks now and still going smooth. You might ask about that. Good luck...
