Default Oil Separator

I just bought a 2017 2.7L ecoboost. I have read some articles and of course watched some YouTube videos on oil separators. Everything I have read and watched would lead me to believe that buying one would be a good investment... any options would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you mean oil separator or catch can?

There is a thread on here that was started about a month ago for the catch can 'discussion'.

Unfortunately you just started another war. LOL

If you are asking about a catch can, this is the thread I am referring to
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/catch-can-poll-467206/

If you mean oil separator, I can't help with that.

I just installed a JLT catch can. Too early to tell if it works, but it can't hurt. According to all the YouTube videos I saw it can help.

I got a ****-ton of heat on here for complaining about how the previous owner installed a catch can, even tho the 2018 2.7 has port injection, making it virtually pointless. The 1/4 cup of smelly oil/gas I empty every few months ain’t making any difference in the amount of carbon that builds up.

I don’t think they’re not without purpose, however, as they seem to vent the crankcase more effectively.
