Whipple install

Well I finally collected all the pieces and started today ar about 10am. It’s now 10pm so 12hrs with some breaks I would say 9-10hrs and I just got to the cooling pump mounting. Was placing the clip nut in the frame and it sprang off into the frame rail so full stop until I go to the parts store in the morning.

I have a step I have to go back to as there is a supplied fitting that is too long for the vacuum line to clip fully so might have to cut it down but will take a pic first.

Here is the fitting I believe is too long as it’s longer than the hose that dips in.

Correction there was an adapter to fix that issue so it’s all good.

The only near mishap so far is I caught my pants right at the crotch on the hood latch and about had gender reassignment stepping off the front end lol. Took the crotch completely out of my jeans.

Thanks for posting! So the vacuum fitting on the driver's side behind the throttle body is not compatible with the fitting that's supposed to clip to it?

Keep up the good work -- I see you got the VDE plugs :)

Yea it’s like 1/2-3/4” too long for the factory line. It goes in just you can’t get it to clip.
Yea and those passenger back two are a pain but I had a double universal set up to get in and out I just needed to tape it all together so it didn’t come apart in the hole.

Definitely not a fan of where the intercooler pump mounts so that will be in my list of things to move as I’m lowering the truck and it’s in the bottom of the frame rail.

Not ideal, but a skid plate should be good enough, as I don't think clearance will be a concern unless you're dropping more than 3 inches or so. I think if the drop is more than about 2" you need to remove the active air dam too, FYI. I'm working on a front brake duct setup that uses the high pressure spot where the EcoBoost intercooler normally mounts. Will probably post about it once the job is done, but the reason I mention it is I will have a section of 3" ducting just under the frame as it transitions into the wheel well area.

Oh, and please do let me know what part or method you used to fix the vacuum line issue.

Thanks!

Well just hit another snag as they didn’t include the bolts and gasket for the throttle body. I didn’t catch that with the parts inventory. Going to source the bolts locally but might have to make
a gasket as I can’t have my truck down for a week waiting on parts

I just checked and mine has the 4 x flat head cap screws for the adapter but no TB gasket here either.
