Default Whipple Guys - What Oil Are you Running?

First Sorry... I did search this forum, but did not find enough direct reference to make me feel confident.

What oil has everyone decided is the best option for the Whipple charged trucks? I read about 5w50, 0w stuff, getting close to my first change, and appreciate any opinions folks have.

Thanks,

Rayo

Whipple calls for 5w50 on the 18+ S550, and Roush calls for 5w50 on the 18+ F150 with their kit.

Whipple does not mention any oil requirements in the F150 instructions like they do with the S550... so I am just going to assume it was an oversight on their part.

Mine is being installed next weekend (I hope) and I plan on running 5w50.

I've asked Whipple and they recommended me to run what the truck originally calls for which is 5w20.

However, i just put 5w30 full synthetic when i did my first oil change.

*edit* I should also mention I'm in Texas. I know weather and daily use plays a part in what's recommended to use.

Whipple doesn't recommend 5-50 on the f150 because they don't turn a high enough rpm on the shifts for it to matter

I'm running 5-50 amsoil, but engineermike made some great points about the euro 10w40s in the past

I am running 5w30 Motorcraft Synblend. The dealership changes my oil for about $50. Just told them on the last oil change to go to 5w30. That is what they use in the 3.5 Eco.

I ran pennzoil ultra platinum 5w30 in my whipple 2015 f-150. I am now running pennzoil euro 5w40 in my whipple 2018 mustang. I would also consider mobil1 5w50 or rotella t6 but each have their drawbacks.

Thanks for all the responses. I am ok with Mobile 1. I ran Schaffers in my 6.0, but I don't have a good local resource for it, so its a pain to source.

So sounds like I can't really make a mistake with Mobile 1 5w30.
