The recaliabration will help some when I installed 35" (34.4") tires on mine my speedometer was off by over 3 mph. Unfortunately as other have said bigger heavier tires and wheels kill MPG.

3 mph at 45 mph puts you around 6% in terms of odometer error. So, you would lose at least 6% just from the difference in calculated versus actual distance travelled.
There are other factors, of course.
