Tuned 2WD 2017-18 3.5 times
Seems like all the posts and videos of tuned 2017-2018 3.5’s are of 4wd trucks. What kind of times/traps are the 2wd trucks running? I would expect higher e.t.’s but also slightly higher mph out of the the 2wd’s. |
I haven't seen anyone matching my trap speeds. I did 11.90 @ 116 mph with a bad 60 ft (not enough heat in tires, poor suspension for drag racing that i've since corrected)
I have a 2017 2wd crewcab for reference. |
Which tune are you running to get a 11.90 in the quarter? What is gear ratio?

Me and my buddy have a company and we tuned it ourselves. He's been tuning ecoboosts specifically for some time and only maybe in the last year or so have we been killin it on the 2.7's and 3.5's.
Not advertising or anything, just saying what tune i run. By no stretch of the imagination is this tune something you should run every day imo, but for track passes it's fine. The fuel system is just too stretched at this power level with 50% ethanol. And the turbos just won't last long at the kind of rpm's they're turning to make the power requested. A safer tune would probably only trap around 110-112 mph and have some slushier shifting on the transmission. Gear ratio is 3.15 |
Not sure how many people understand that the weight of your truck effects how fast you can go. The new body f150s can go fast but if you buy a loaded platinum crew cab with a sun roof don’t expect to run what the single cab guys can. |
No more 2wd's out there??? Like TX-Ripper stated, the lighter 2wd should trap more than the 4wd's being 400~500 lbs lighter.

The weight difference is not that large between 2wd/4wd, I'd recon most of the trap speed differences have to do with drivetrain losses from spinning an extra axle with 4wd.
2015 F150 5.0 RCSB curb weights 2wd - 4223lbs 4wd - 4487lbs My platinum crew cab short bed weighed right under 5900lbs with a half tank of gas on a cat scale and I trapped 118 mph on my last track runs. My truck is making some power but I’ve only run 12.048 in the 1/4. |
