Right by the valve. And its huge and kills flow at high HP. The Gen 2's get rid of this I believe which is probably one reason why they make 450 RWHP tune only I've also heard it is to help swirl the air entering the cylinder to improve mixture with the fuel.
The port injection on the new engines, according to ford, is primarily to help improve low power mpgs. My not relying on the Direct injection pump to pressurize the fuel to high pressure, you save some energy. That said, I have a hard time believing it isnt intended to help the intake valves a little.

Yeah the reversion lip being gone and the exhaust manifold being vastly superior the gen2 engine flows way better both in and out than the old motor. That being said, it's still turbocharged. The gen1 that has updated turbos in the 15-16 can make 430-440 whp on those turbos when given enough fuel with an XDI pump upgrade.

Wow, I didn't know they were getting 450 wheel out of a tune only!
I just told myself "you only live once" and just ordered the omega tune for my 5.0 I'm guessing I can download and view a log file post tune using the ngauage to view port injector activity?

Your gonna like that tune. It brings the truck life, the biggest change is the shift points, and the added power is sure nice too. Mileage will take a slight hit though, even when driven the same.

The mileage shouldn't be a big factor as I live close to work. I would hope this flex fuel tune would take advantage of the E85 as well. I've never seen a dyno plot for the 2018 5.0 omega tune, but i'll take it back to the track once the heat wave passes..
