So which Tuners have the 2018 5.0 w/10spd figured out?

Would you advise front and rear end 4.11s to compensate? Running the L9 right now (electric diff and 3.55s with the 8.8in super). Thanks for your help!

Longtime conventional wisdom says 4.54s for 35" tires. I have seen others post that 4.10s work with the 10 speed tranny and 35s. I haven't checked your profile as I run the Mobile app; if you don't have a programmer yet (I suspect you do), resetting your odometer/speedometer will help some. That will have to be adjusted again if/when you change gear ratios.

Going to a larger diameter tire can have a negative impact on shifting since the final drive ratio has been changed and the speedometer is now incorrect as well. These trucks decide when to shift based off of a long list of variables including RPM and MPH. Fortunately our Mycal Touch tuning devices would allow you to adjust the tire size and gear ratio as needed for customers with aftermarket tire or gear changes as well.

I just bought the truck 4 days ago so I have been talking to 5 star and I am placing an order for an Ngauge and their 5 lifetime tunes. I will try to get a quote this next month from a shop on 4.10s front and rear. Maybe I could get it done all at the same time. 4.54s just seem excessive to me. Would you even use first gear at that point? I've also never had a 10 speed and for most of my life drove 6 speed manuals. I put 3.73s in my old mustang and that made gears really short.
I have quite a few friends who run 5 star, most of them EcoBoost but multiple of them have 5.0's (two with 2018's running 35's) and the difference is night and day.

I think you'll be much happier after getting the 5 star tunes, either way even if you change the gears down the line you are going to need the tuner. The ngauge/5 star tunes will allow you to make the changes for the larger tires and new gears.

Thats exactly what I was hoping for, I’ll be getting the tune shortly. Had to take the truck back to the dealership to have them fix a couple interior blemishes I didn’t notice originally. They gave me an ecoboost as a loaner (the 3.5) and I was surprised how the little v6 gets up and goes. All in all though I miss my V8 even after one day. I feel like the engine whines at you when you ask for it on the eco but grunts and punches you in the jaw on the v8. I think I enjoy the latter.
Lol yeah I'm a converted ecoboost guy now after owning a few diesels and many na V8's, on my 2nd ecoboost truck now and I'm spoiled, it's insane what just a tune can do for them. With that being said if I didn't tow often and in high elevation mountains I'd probably give the new 2018+ f150 5.0 a shot.

Well definitely let us know how you like the tunes.

Just uploaded my 5Star 93 Octane Performance tune. Just for the drivability aspect and throttle response alone it was worth it! Admittedly, I've only had a few minutes to play around but initial impressions are good, night and day from stock. I'll be driving it all week to and from work and will try to pay attention to the light throttle, slower speed shifting and behavior of the engine/trans combo. After a week or so I'll switch to the E85 and see how that is.
