I use my GTX exclusively to datalog, and it works fine....no complaints from my tuner. His tune came with the necessary configuration file for data logging, but I ended up making my own in live link and using that without issues.

EDIT

I misunderstood. I thought you had issues putting the laptop in your truck but my second pass through it sounds like you have no other computer but either your work laptop or your personal with Vista, and you cannot run LiveLink and SCT Device Updater at all. If that is the case, then yes....you will be unable to load the configuration file necessary to data log the parameters requested by your tuner.
Did you buy the device preloaded by them? When I got my device, my tuner had already loaded the datalogging configuration file required.

I have a desktop. That's how I got the custom tunes loaded.

No laptop to run for logging.
But it appears there are suggestions here.

Ran like a top today with the 87 octane tow/perf. Aas soon as I burn this tank up, it will be on 93.

How will the straight Performance 93 tune be for towing though? Maybe once a month I tow and don't want to change the tune. It was either SCT or Five Star that recommends on their site to just hit the Tow/haul button.

So i'm thinking the 93 Perf and use the Tow/haul button when I tow.

The 87 made the pedal much more sensitive at idle and takeoff. Overall, you could easily tell it was making a difference when towing today.

I actually haven't driven it without the trailer. It's only 2k loaded though.
