Hadn't noticed any replies until just now.

This was SSI2 on 93, I think it's called "KS".

I think, honestly, that the difference is in your head for everything but shift strategies unless the other tune was very bad.

It's just a confusing thing to have happen. It could also be the throttle mapping.
Not really sure. I haven't dynoed anything so can't say for certainty, however, no doubt one tune feels more responsive than another. Honestly I think it has to do with shift strategies and throttle mapping like you mentioned. The initial tip in is much more noticeable vs others and shifting is pretty darn smooth. I also think the shifting points being different makes the most noticeable difference.

And yes a tune really transforms the bottom end on the 5.0, it's goofy ford has such a short leash on these things in the F150.
I did read some issues with the SSI tune before purchasing, but also read similar things about other tuners. What's more, I read issues with cylinder #8 with the factory tune. I'm really thinking the "issues" that have been seen after tuning were already prevalent in the engine before tuning but were blamed on the tune.

For ecoboost engines though, I could see the turbos possibly producing too much boost causing damage to the engine with any tune.

I do still use the SSI tune, but where I'm working now 93 is much more than 87. As a result I've mainly been using the Omega tune for it's flexibility. Like I mentioned before, the Omega tune is still a good tune.

Too much bad juju on SSI. Mostly from ecoboost crowd. Good luck with yours.
