Loaded mine last night, just putted around a bit with it, still have 87 in the tank. First impression, I love the way it shifts just driving around. Truck even sounds different.

Did you guys all data log when you first installed? Does it matter what fuel you have in for that, as long as you specify what was in it?

On the 18 5.0 trucks 87 is a massive power loss when tuning. Having said that, if you told him the tune is for 87 and he's left the OAR logic in place i'm sure it's fine. If it isn't you'll know pretty quick from the sound of marbles bouncing around as it pings lol.

It's the Omega tune, so it doesn't matter what octane I run, but yes, I get that it will only really make better power on higher octane. My question was more about if Ken prefers a specific fuel for the data logging when you first get the tune. They have since got back to me that it doesn't matter.

I will most likely run a 50/50 mix of 87 and E85 most of the time, since I have great local access to E85.

I currently run the five star 93 tow/perf in my 2013 5.0 screw 4x4 with an SCT X4.
The only mod I have is an electric exhaust dump.
Considering getting the Omega but I have no capability of data logging.

Several (many?) in this thread and others seem to have logged and had the tune adjusted.

Is that really necessary on a stock truck?

I haven’t yet, haven’t had the time or place to do the pulls. Maybe @OzTuningKen can offer insight.

It's necessary on every vehicle. No engine and atmospheric conditions and local fuel are the same. It's always worth sending a few logs and telling them what you want from it.

At my last job, that’s how I had it. At this job, since we have so much private information, they don’t play that.
