that's what I figured. I know of 2 guys in my town with a 2018 and a 2017 that had their warranties voided and they are still fighting because of running 5star tuners.

I told he guy if he wanted a sports car he should have bought a Mustang because in the end you are still running a half ton pick up no matter what kind of tuner you put in it.

The one guy happen to be named Spencer by chance? Lol
It's pretty hard to get your warranty voided from running tunes unless you're just totally blatant about it.
It happens though.

Seriously? I've heard nothing but good things about the Omega tune from OZ. Many say it's the best tune out there for the 5.0, and it's really nice how it's a flex tune. Just one tune needed and can run any octane gas or E85. There is also quite a few youtube video's showing great results at the track. Why do you say it was useless?

Here's one example of performance results: Reg Cab FX4 5.0 w/3.31 gears runs 12.74 @ 108 with tune only on E85, and dyno's 414hp/425tq. Prior to tune he ran 13.49 @ 102 and dyno'd 369/405. I wouldn't call those useless results. And the driveability and throttle response is supposed to be much better.

Im in the same situation as you as far as deciding which tuner to go with. I have a 2017 3.5 ecoboost. Any regrets or breakdowns since using the MPT tuner? Do you run your truck tuned as a daily driver?

Thanks for any advice, pointer, suggestions or help you can provide

Not sure who you're asking, but I'll answer.
I have the same truck as you, I run the MPT 93PRX as a daily tune. I'm aware of how it shifts much firmer, so no surprises. I have the 93Tow, and 87Trans only tunes as well, but have never tried them.
I will say, a month or so ago, I was having trouble with the 1st to 2nd gear shift. It would hangup coming out of 1st, seemed to go to nuetral, then slam into 2nd. I put the stock tune back in, and no problem. After some research and asking questions, it seems sometimes the tunes can get stupid, for lack of a better term, and weird things happen. I reload the 93PRX, and have no problems.
I'm using the nGauge, it's got a nice set of programmable gauges for it, but when tuning, I hope you have a young guys eyes. The letters are pretty small, and I have to really be careful to get the tune installed I want.
This is the 2nd truck, the other a '12 with the 5.0, that I've used MPT. Next truck likely will too. Those guys are very easy to access and talk to, great CS as far as my experience with them.

Im new to using a forum for information so im having a bit of a learning curve when it comes to asking questions but regardless, thanks for responding. I appreciate the info! Im really thinking MPT if i do end up tuning. Im just scared of damaging my truck. The transmission hiccup you mentioned makes me nervous but hopefully they have that figured out. So do you leave your truck in 93prx mode? Since i only have 91 fuel available to me 91prx would be the best tune i could run. Any one you know of that has anything to say about the 91PRX tune? Good gains? No issues? Pros & cons?

Damaging my truck is always on my mind as well. Even with a tune, I'm very easy on it, I will jump on it, but it's quite rare. The power gains I've gotten can be felt very easily.
Yes, I leave my truck with the 93PRX in, and even drive it in regular drive. I will downshift when coming into turns and downhill, a habit I got driving the big trucks. I have used "Sport" mode a handful of times, and even "Manual", but only on occasion, just don't need to with the tunes.
I'd imagine you'd have slightly less power on 91PRX, than the 93, but as far as being able to feel a difference, I doubt if either of us could tell.
I'm sure there are some that are running the 91PRX, but I can't come up with any names.

Default Mpt 91 PRX Tune

2017 3.5 ecoboost, not sure what axle ratio I have but can find out. Looking for 2 tunes, both for 91 octane - a towing tune and performance tune- I live in denver and commute up the hill to Evergreen ( my house is at 8K feet)

MPT and 5 star look to be about the same and i think use the same tuner - Ngauge with HP tuner is that correct ? 5 star looks to be about $100 less.

If anyone has thoughts on tuners outside these two please feel free to make recommendations.

Thanks folks !!
I was curious if you use the 91 prx tune. There are alot of lowlanders out there that live at sea level or close to it and they have access to 93 octane fuel. Most of us highlanders st 5000' ft or above only have access to 91 octane so we can't use the 93 prx tune. Do you or anyone you know use MPT 91 tune? If so, are the gains pretty noticeable?

I see that Stage3 Motorsports is offering the MPT bundle for $300. That seems too good to be true! Not sure if your sill deciding which way to go but i though I would pass on the info to help a guy save some cash. Please let me know if you do decide to go MPT, how you like it.

Thanks
