I am like blue5.0, I have the 5.0 not the EB, but customer service from Mpt is very good. They answer emails and any questions and seem very willing to make any changes if your not happy or have any issues at first. They will give you a free updated tune if they have updated one you bought. My transmission shifts are spot on. I have some ssi tunes also and my experience has been very good with them also. Never tried 5star or Oz, but have spoken to Ken at Oz who is a great guy and customer service with him I know would be great as he use to tune at Mpt and went out on his own. My only issue and this is with ALL Tuners I have dealt with is that my truck seems after time to develop a slight lazy hesitation under normal light throttle acceleration. When I first load the tunes and drive easy first 50 miles then after that the throttle response is instant and after time I get a lazy touch to the normal throttle input. MPT even tried to take this out with a couple revisions on the 93 prx, but it may be the torque converter lock up management, not sure. I know our trucks have the adaptive learning and I can do a Kam reset. I had the throttle body good and clean, I should have installed my catch can again. If I hit the accelerator hard no hesitation, just downshift and hauls butt.

So I decided to go with MPT, ordered my MPT NGauge and a few tunes, only have 91 octane in Denver, loaded her up a few nights ago with the 91 PRX tune and still smiling from ear to ear. Process was easy, tune seems to run great and know need to do a few runs and send the logs to MPT for review. So far so good ! low to mid range power is greatly improved as is the transmission shifting, put that baby in Sport mode and leave everyone else in the dust. truck was pretty quick to begin with but now it's like a beast. Love it, can't wait to see how it tows. first day with the tune, rolling along the entry ramp to the freeway and had to get ahead of some traffic, stepped on it and must have laid about 20 feet of rubber and was like holy hell... this thing does not have posi-traction, will need to remedy that next...

Congrats. It’s amazing the difference that is had with a tune only. It’s almost indescribable when people ask the difference from factory.

Another vote for MPT here. I’ve moved onto an Oz tune as I get deeper into modifications on the 5.0, but the MPT tune was solid. Nothing but good things to say about it on my 2013 Eco I had a while back as well. Mike and his staff never left a question unanswered.

No one has any doubts that SSI is laying the fastest times, consistently faster than other tuners - but consider Occams Razor...is it more believable that one amongst many tuners is truly head and shoulders above everyone else, or is there a significant level of risk at an attempt for maximum effort on the motor? Just a thought.

Looks like MPT doesn't offer a tune for the 2018 5.0?

Give them a call. When I was looking for my GenII Ego, I wound up talking to them. They answer the phone, and will answer your questions. I found emails work, but person to person works better. Very easy people to talk with.

The MPT does not support all tuning platforms. I have a iTSX which was awesome because I can load the tunes with my phone. I had a 13 5.0 and now a 15 3.5 Eco. I had 5* but was thinking of testing out MPT but it will NOT work with the iTSX so I will be back with 5*

MPT sent me a revised version of the 93 PR-X and I pulled a couple data logs and they said everything was running great as I can verify this with my butt dyno. Totally love this and it is spot on. Their customer service is great from their calibrators and hats off to James at MPT for dialing my truck in perfect.
