new to this board - Tuners? SSi/MPT/5Star ?

I have a 15 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with 84K miles. I have been tuned by SSI 1 month after I bought the truck. Got a 91 performance tune, and a 91 tow tune. Both have worked great for me, no issues at all. The tow tune pulls easy, shifts smooth, and all my temps stay low.
I have data logged my 91 performance tune and got it revised once. I think it runs excellent ZERO turbo lag, great throttle response, can't even feel it shift. I live in Southern NM, my DA is usually 5000' + with a tune only I ran 13.2@98 (14.9 stock) Which is pretty good for this elevation. And to top it off I get 21-22 mpg @ 80 on the interstate. City mileage sucks because I cant keep my foot out of it. But I did my best for a week and it averaged 18.2 with only in town driving. I know people talk crap about SSI, I heard it when I was looking into my tune. When I heard something negative about SSI I asked for details or proof it was SSI. The only thing I ever got back was they blow motors. That wasn't enough proof for me so I called Shawn and talked with him. He spent over 30 minutes talking to me on the phone answering all my questions, and explaining his tunes. It all sounded great! So I pulled the trigger and never looked back. I have raced the same truck as mine with an MPT tune and they didn't even come close.

Ran 5* for a while and quite pleased, decided to try MPT and have never looked back. I run their 93 race as a DD now for a couple years only changing once to drop down to 87 PRX also MPT and again was pleased. I still have all my 5* tunes as I ordered tunes for just about all octanes available when I travel as not everyone has 93, most have 91 so I covered my bases so I don't get stuck somewhere having to revert to stock, that would really SUCK!!!
Gave the Omega tune a try and that was worthless, they refunded my $$ so nothing more to say on that, the sheer stigma of blown engines attached to SSI is enough to shy me away, that and Shawn's unprofessional behavior in this very forum but I digress.
Never tried Unleashed tuning.

I tried a few different tuners in my '13 ecoboost...MPT, LET, 5*, Unleashed, and, yes, even SSI. My go-to tune was Unleashed followed closely by MPT. With my new '18 ecoboost, I decided on Unleashed. Torrie has never disappointed me and is always super quick to answer any questions I have.
The GearHead tune will most likely be the next one I try. Have more reading up to do concerning it, but it seems to be a popular choice.

I have a 2015 3.5 and was excited to get a tune. These "amazing", "runs like a raped ape", "holy cow" tune reviews. I have a tune on my M3 and yes very noticeable so I tuned the F150 with 89 5* performance tow. Honestly I cannot even tell the tune is in the truck and have seen zero mpg gain. I changed the plugs 500 miles ago and gapped then at .28-.30 like others stated. I did 1400 mile trip on Iowa Nebraska i80 and cruise control set at 70 with maybe 100 lbs in the bed and 15.5 was my mpg.
Maybe my truck is defective but I have done everything that people say to make the tune amazing yet I see no real results from the tune.

Not trying to scare you, but something isn't right. Even with that relatively mild tune, you should see something.
Maybe call 5* and talk to them.

Even though you're not going to get much out of a 89 tune you should still definitely feel a pretty good difference.
But.. a 91 or 93 performance tune would be waaaay better

they were once on top for the ecoboost, however the gains they are showing are pretty weak compaired to everyone else. 50hp and 80tq for the Raptor Eco is pretty weak. or am I missing something?

From what I've seen, with a regular 3.5, GenII, the top tunes bring it to the same level as the Raptor with the tune you're seeing. In other words, the 3.5 GenII is tuned to the same output level regardless if it's the HO or not. I think it was on MPT's site I saw that.
