New 5.0 and dissappointed with performance
#21
Should've bought an 18 if you are looking for power. Let it break in a bit. The 5.0's are very tight new. It will get quicker though 10K miles.

Theirs a difference between badmouthing something and comparing it. I never badmouthed the 5.0, this is my third one in 5 years. I'm dissappointed because this one feels even slower than my last, and I've listened to you guys for weeks tell me the 5.0 was faster. Even though I knew it wasn't true. I really was hoping it was though, because I got a great deal. I ordered a pedal commander to see if that will make a difference. I'm still happy with the truck, just don't understand why I buy a new truck with 60 more hp and it's not as quick. Frustrating

Don't lie. There are too many witnesses. You filled pages bad-mouthing anything proven to be faster than your 2.7. We saw it.
I thought about you the other day when I ran across ANOTHER 13 second stock 5.0 f-150. Member "Spooled" ran 13.9 at 98, almost identical to what my stock 08 tundra ran. I'm not sure I would call 13.9 fast, but it certainly isn't "slowww" (especially if you think 14.0 is "fast").
I don't know why you feel the need to incessantly bash the 5.0's power and speed. It seems like you'd get bored with it after a while.

Like i have saying all along, the 5.0 bottom end torque is boatloads more then a baby engine with turbos. No rpm, no boost and no power. And the 2.7 completely falls on its face by 4500 rpm too. The little turbos are done pumping air by then and the 5.0 just keeps making power

There's also a difference between "theirs" and "there's".

Was this not you?
Your very first post in this thread describes the 5.0 as "disappointing" and "slowww"! You've been busted in more lies than I can count.
That has been disproven time and time again, both in magazine tests (the fair ones, at least) and at the track. Your street racing "kills" hold no water.

It’s not worth it, Mike. Just let him post whatever he wants and move on. He’s been banned twice in 2 weeks. Chances are he’ll hang himself here for good soon enough. I’d hate to see good members with something to contribute such as yourself get caught up in and banned too.
