Yeah, to look at this engine under the hood it is lost in a sea of space, but when you step on the pedal it's an animal.

Hopefully the 5.0 will do what you want with the mods?

I'm not going to do anything to the 5.0, prob just use this truck for hauling the trailer for our lawn business, surf fishing and hunting. It's just a plain jane work truck white and the only add ons are chrome bumpers and alloy wheels summers.

Okay, the 5.0 has no intercooler? My bad.

Oh yeah I meant I did those mods on my 2.7 but haven't ran it yet. It went 14.0 stock so I'm hoping high 12s with the sticky tires I got. The new truck with the v8 I'm not going to modify. Maybe exhaust because it would sound good. Oh and that pedal commander.

It stickered at $40295 and i bought it for $28750. I also have a 16' 2.7 and decided to keep it due to the horrible trade in they were giving me. So coming from a guy who owns both the 5.0 and 2.7, the little ecoboost is quicker. How is a 325hp engine quicker than a 385hp engine? Makes no sense. The biggest thing I like from the ecoboost is the instant throttle response. The 5.0 pulls hard but only at high rpms.
Probably because torque = acceleration, not HP.

How could someone be "disappointed" with something they've been bad-mouthing for months, maybe years?

Theirs a difference between badmouthing something and comparing it. I never badmouthed the 5.0, this is my third one in 5 years. I'm dissappointed because this one feels even slower than my last, and I've listened to you guys for weeks tell me the 5.0 was faster. Even though I knew it wasn't true. I really was hoping it was though, because I got a great deal. I ordered a pedal commander to see if that will make a difference. I'm still happy with the truck, just don't understand why I buy a new truck with 60 more hp and it's not as quick. Frustrating

I've always been happy with the 5.0, just always found it fitting for a truck to have a v8. Love the control my new truck has. She boogies just fine when needed and I can still chug slowly on our icy/snow packed roads. Maybe your gearing or tune is wrong. But we all have different driving styles to I suppose. Sorry to read your unhappy.

I couldn't agree with you more about having a V8. In 15' I had a deal on a new crewcab 4×4 20" wheels 2.7 $47k sticker for $32k and i wouldn't even drive it. Wouldn't even consider an engine that small. Bought a 5.0 instead for more money. I got beat by a 2.7, went and test drove one and was shocked. Absolutely love the immediate and low end tq, the gas mileage and how quick it is. I do like how this 5.0 sounds and pulls when rpms are up.
