New 3.5 Ecoboost owner - Intercooler/Tune Question

Stage3 offers a warranty (at an additional cost of course) when you buy a programmer w/5* tunes from them.

Are you sure? On there website it says " Unfortunately, we aren't currently offering our Aftermarket Powertrain Warranties for the 2015-2018 F150s at this time. 5-Star is monitoring their test trucks, and are hopeful about their longevity and reliability." I was finally ready to pull the trigger when I saw your post, but once on site I read the no warranty bit and went back into my little no tune hole

I have a 2017 F-150 Limited with the 2nd gen eco and A10 trans.
I got mines tuned with HPTuners by Corbin Johnson. I have 1 self adaptable tune for any octane and another for a 60% ethanol blend.
So far I have Full Race downpipes, drop in filter, Intercooler, Blow-off valve, full race catch can and exhaust.
If I can do it again I'd opt for just a drop in AEM filter, Mishimoto intercooler and Tune.
Tune and intercooler made the biggest difference. I went with Mishimotos which is a direct replacement with 150% more flow volume and 65% more surface area.
On 93* weather days with my stock intercooler I would get IAT Temps starting from 118-135F on a simple 0-80mph pull. After that it had a hard time being consistent with high IAT's it makes huge difference for sure. With the same temps outside with the mishimoto I go from starting at 115F to 106F after the end of the pull, my IAT's actually drop under WOT acceleration compared to the stock climbing 20F

I have to get emmissions done in CT, so the full race exhaust is out for me. So your opinion regarding the intercooler and tune is good news. I already got some 5* tunes and the truck runs great. Sounds like the intercooler will be next. Did you do the install yourself? Do I need a lift?

The mishimoto is a direct replacement and has better specs than the whipple so I opted with that.

CFM wise and Surface area on paper yes. Now in actual testing.... That'll take alot of data to compare. It came in a nice powdercoated silver and had a front rubber guide/seal so it can funnel the air from the bumper so that was a + as well.
