Stock truck won't stall up that high, and if you stall it at max stall on a stock tune, it will bog anyhow.

And someone else will always be faster.
Having done a ton of runs, and now owning an '18 for half a year on stock tune, stalling it up past 1500= slower.

True, but it makes the turnaround easier.
AND DON'T USE THE LOCKER. The locker is just a wheel hop button, even up past 600hp, the locker was no good on my '16, worse still on my '18. If you ask me the locker is total garbage, and virtually useless. The only upside is you're not likely to break anything with it with the stock tune.

No one else mentioned, if you want a good ET, stage shallow and focus on launch quality, not timing.

Just my opinions...

So not having raced trucks before, curious about something.

Launching in 4 high and the front not disengaging till after your run,... would this not be pretty hard on your 4wd system?

Was always under the belief 4wd should not be used over 45-55 mph and these drag runs are finishing around 100 mph on dry pavement.

Going back this Friday if the weather is dry. I will try 4H, sport mode, traction control off and launch at 1,500 and see how it works. Truck is different in that I am running 265/70 Michelins instead of the stock all terrains. Since last time I have added rear swaybar and 5100 Bilsteins set and maximum lift. I will be happy if I break into the 13s.

Don't stall it up much. flashing the converter seems to work better on these.
