4 high, rear diff locked, leave as high as possible.
And someone else will always be faster.

I'm not that serious but I'm a pilot. DA is around sea level elevation around 70', temp around 60 F, high humidity. Track very slick.
I'm gonna go out next Friday night and try the suggestions, 4x4, diff lock, see if I can't get into the 13s.

So I watched a youtube video recently of a guy with a 5.0 powered '18 f150. The more he stalled the converter against the brakes, the slower the truck went. He netted better times flashing the converter from just over idle. This is probably somewhat of a disagreement with what other posters have stated, and I'm not advocating for one method or the other. Just saying what happened. This was a tuned 5.0 with a stock converter. First pass was a 13.85ish, and he made two more passes and times went up to a 13.95 or something as he added more stall rpm's.
It could be a result of heat in the transmission perhaps, or other factors, but that's what took place regarding et's and flashing versus stalling the stock converter.
these guys sort of make the same point
here's the youtube video

One thing I can say...and its a bit obvious, is to make sure stability control / traction control is off and the truck is in sport mode. I've forgotten to turn those off, and it really kills times.
Heat soak is a concern between runs, so get that hood open after each run and let it really try and cool off. 4wd is a must, and will really lower that 60ft. I personally don't use the locker, as I'm concerned about parts breakage due to Ford's design, but it seems plenty of people use it without issue. I don't really brake boost the truck too much either, as again....concerned about braking **** due to my blower.
Practice and have fun!
