with good methanol injection, the only reason you'd want to upgrade the intercooler is for better flow. Methanol injection should be dropping the IATs like 40 degrees. Methanol is liquid gold. I ran serious methanol on my last car as a supplementary fueling option because of the direct injection. I don't know what the limits are on stock 2.7 injection; if upgraded high pressure pumps are available or an option yet, etc....so that may be a route you need to go, to get substantially more power.

There goes the warranty if it ain't already gone.

If you're all that concerned about more hp, why not trade it in for another with a bigger displacement more powerful engine?

Because I already bought the truck and not looking to lose money trading it in. I wanted to know where else to turn to push more numbers. Again I'm not expecting 9s track time lol just want a little more out of it. Maybe like 50 hp.

Jeeze, people. Just answer the dude's question if you wanna be helpful or don't post if you don't like what he's trying to do...😕
For the guys talking about 5.0's Yes, you can get more power out of them with enough cash. But the fact that of the matter is that $600 worth of mods will have the 2.7 beating the brakes off of any 5.0 with less than $6k invested in their engine. The purists can argue all they want, but the simple science of power to weight ratio disagrees with their argument. I doubt the guy wants to lose his @$$ in a trade, pony up the $1500 up charge for the 5.0, and then spend $7k just to be able to outrun his current truck.

Finally Someone who understands that a couple 2.7l engine mods makes for a better tradeoff than a 8000$ supercharger for the v8

bingo.

ok. the secret sauce is in the tune. maybe you already have her dialed in but if not, a good tune can make a huge difference. that said, almost nothing will make you best a high up car on the hwy. so accept that trucks can scoot from a dig but not at higher speeds and only "play" 0-60.

Well i snooped around to see who has the best ecoboost tuned out their and it landed on SSI. I contacted them and gave them a list of my mods and they were so damn confident about that significant change from 5 star tunes to their tunes that he told him "we won't just blow 5 star straight out of the water, we'll embarrass them aswell". So I'm gonna go ahead and buy a tune from them in the upcoming week and I'll let you guys know how it goes!
