Looking at trading
 
I currently have a 2015 RCSB f150 5.0, Kooks Headers, 2.9 Gen 2 Whipple with upgraded injectors, Ungraded MAS, with a sport suspension and Cal-trac traction bars. Looking at the same thing in a 2018 and doing the same upgrades except a Gen 3 Whipple and 4WD. The 2018 would bump me up at least 100 more HP. Looking for input?

Why not try swapping for the Gen 3 housing first? That’s about 50 hp right there.

Because the old 5.0 is a boat anchor compared to the new one.

Please...even Whipple is only showing about 50 more HP over the old motor so far and Ford shows what...a whopping 10 more HP. I hardly think that relegates the older ones to boat anchor status.
Anything north of 600 is a good time. More than that becomes unusable to some degree. I’ve had several trucks north of 600...one north of 1000. I didn’t even think about driving that one on a wet road.

I'm just being facetious mostly. The new 5.0 is showing much much better power under the curve at any rate.

4WD is can be a game changer at those power levels, depending on what his goals are, partially for the reasons you mentioned. My thoughts are the 10 speed, newer 5.0, and the Whipple will mean a much stronger combo.

I'd do it for the 4wd alone. Better launches from a dig on unprepped surfaces.....i.e. that pesky muscle car at the light thinks he's hot **** and you know he ain't....a 4wd launch to 50mph is a pretty convincing win.

honestly, the power levels the '18s are handling on stock internals, i'd go twin turbo with 4wd. just nasty, nasty fast.
