I hear folks talking about Hellcats and whatnot, but those just don't hook on the street (or at the track much of the time), and don't really present a challenge away from a light. Apparently the Trackhawk is a porker as well.... but damn, is it fast!!
Anyone else got mid 11's in their sites?
Anyone else give a damn about FCA and their crazy powerful machines?

He posted some details about his truck in the 1/4 mile time thread. I was impressed with his 60 ft time. He needs to make up about a second to meet his goal.

Sweet. Can’t wait to see how it moves out. I like the chargers down there...that’s a lot of weight moved behind the axle vs all the ones with them under the hood.
Can they run the filter inlets up high and dry or you just gonna wing it in the rain?

This will be available as a kit soon. The kit that is offered for the mustang filters are down low no issues with rain and you would have drive through 1-1/2 feet of water to have a problem just to give an idea. But yes the filters will be up high so that you can go off roading and not have a problem. I'll post more pics soon should be done next week.

Somebody on a Ford social media post about the new GT500 commented that "Ford and GM haven't thought about Dodge for years." I guess that's why the Challenger which is 10 years old still outsells the Camaro? And it's why 4 years later, Ford is catching up with Dodge by surpassing 700 HP finally?
Truth is, Chrysler (and the brands and ownership associated with them) was always the innovator. The leader. The first to do things. From AM/FM radio in a car, to the "big rig" look for production pickup trucks, to mass producing American V10 engines, to a factory car that runs 9s. They lead Ford and GM along.
Who makes a factory 4x4 with removable top and doors? Only FCA. Who makes a car that runs 9s with a factory warranty for under 100k? Only FCA. Who makes a family grocery getter with your choices of a 392 Hemi or a blown 6.2 Hemi? Only FCA. Who makes the full size truck with the most DYNO PROVEN torque available in the world? Only FCA.
So to answer your question.. yes, everybody gives a damn about FCA whether they like it or not because FCA sets the bar.

For the rest of us buying as a DD, after about 400HP in a car or 500HP in a truck you’ll probably run out of traction before you run out of power. As mentioned by several people here, you may not even get the big results away from the track.
I rode super sports and I’m perfectly content with the 5.7 in my challenger. Frankly I’m glad that I opted out of the scat pack, demon, and hellcat options regardless of sticker price. I wouldn’t use the power over the 5.7 on a regular basis and I’d be paying quite a bit more in fuel and insurance costs.
The wrangler platform is good for one thing only - driving off road. When kept on the pavement, it’s slow, underpowered, plain, uncomfortable in all but the luxury trim levels, and delivers poor fuel economy. The short wheelbase makes it undesirable in the snow. Slip the tires and it only takes a moment to be sideways. I see no appeal in sprinting to the parking lot every time it rains unexpectedly, inviting every passerby to steal my property, or cleaning random people’s trash out of my car. Do you?

^^Yup my sister has one (which they do take off-roading a lot) but anything at highway speeds and it feels like it will shake apart, poor fuel mileage, etc....so they take his Ram 3500 as it is more comfortable and the wrangler is the grocery getter during the week.
